What is Kiwi Health Check?
Kiwi Health Check is a comprehensive health survey screening for over 50 preventable diseases and conditions, as well as providing health and wellness advice. Designed by local General Practitioners for everyday New Zealanders, we draw on our experience to identify the most important aspects of health advice targeted at preventing disease - which is better than curing it. Kiwi Health Check provides a personalised report which can be discussed further with your own health professional, as well as providing links to important information.
Why Check Your Health?
Prevention is better than cure.
Up to 68% of deaths each year in New Zealand are avoidable or preventable. The leading contributors to preventable diseases can be easily identified and managed. With increasing pressure on accessing timely care through the health system, preventing disease has never been more important.
Who gets my health information?
Only you!
No information or data about your answers is stored at all. Once your Kiwi Health Check report is created, you can print it or email it to yourself, then it vanishes for good. You will never be asked for your name, date of birth, address and you will not need to make an account.
Health Advice
The health advice provided by Kiwi Health Check has been reviewed by New Zealand GPs and is in line with local, evidence-based guidelines. The health advice is regularly checked, updated, added to and developed to ensure the highest quality and most accurate advice possible.
Primary care
Kiwi Health Check believes that Primary Care is the most important part of a Kiwi’s healthcare journey. Your local GP, Hauora, family health centre, clinic or practice is the best place to form a long-term healthcare relationship with. They specialise in all aspects of medicine – from pregnancy to end of life care and are well placed to partner with you in preventing disease or unwellness.
